During this season of The Voice, coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Ariana Grande gifted their artist’s each something special during the blind auditions. First time judge Ariana Grande expressed the significance of vocal wellness and gifted her artist’s a vocal health first-aid kit to help their voices throughout the season. "As a coach, I want them to maintain healthy instruments," she explains. "My gift this season is a lunch box. There are supplements and teas and honey packets to help soothe your voice."
Within their vocal health first-aid kit, #TeamAriana received four products to help maintain vocal longevity. Here is the list of Grande’s thoughtful selections for her team:
The first product that Ariana Grande revealed from the Vocal First Aid Kit was our very own, Grether’s Pastilles! Ariana has been relying on Grether’s Pastilles for her vocal health for almost a decade and revealed that she always keeps a golden tin in her handbag during a “My Everything in My Handbag” in a 2013 interview.
When revealing the signature golden tin, Grande confirms that Grether’s Pastilles “are the necessity for singers.” With a trusted formula that has been used for over 150 years, our pastilles are crafted with high-quality, raw ingredients and aid with relieving strained voices due to dryness and hoarseness in the throat. This is done by using glycerine sourced from only the highest quality vegetable oils that creates a protective film around the vocal cords.
Grande revealed Wedderspoon Organic Manuka Honey Drops that use manuka honey, ginger and echinacea to help soothe throats. Honey is a natural antibacterial agent and helps heal damage caused to the throat. The ginger in these drops helps with inflammation caused by strained vocal cords.
This product uses the ingredient bromelain, which is the enzyme found in pineapple. This ingredient is great for reducing inflammation caused by swelling. During the vocal first aid kit reveal, Grande advocates that bromelain helps with swollen vocal cords caused by singing, yelling or even just talking.
Traditional Medicinals Organic Throat Coat Herbal Tea advocates supporting vocal health with their organic, kosher ingredients, including slippery elm bark, marshmallow root and licorice root. These ingredients have been used for centuries and have played an important role in Native American medicine for irritated and inflamed throats.
Ariana Grande ends the vocal first aid reveal by saying, "I hope the singers on this show book big tours and that they get to go sing for the rest of their lives. I hope that they find these tools very helpful."
